ROSALIE – Information about taking part

BCT 2501
ROSALIE
Prof Boon Chua

ROSALIE is trying to find out if people can go without radiation therapy when there is no invasive cancer left in their breast after chemotherapy and surgery.

WHO CAN TAKE PART IN ROSALIE?

ROSALIE may be right for you if:

  • You are female and 18 years of age or older
  • You have breast cancer that is only in the breast (that is, has not spread to lymph nodes in the chest or the chest wall)
  • You have had at least 8 weeks of chemotherapy and then surgery on your breast after chemotherapy
  • Surgery found that there is no invasive cancer left in the breast
  • Some people may have a small amount (no more than 1cm) of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) remaining after treatment. DCIS is an early non-invasive form of breast cancer. DCIS remaining after treatment is called residual DCIS. You can also take part in ROSALIE if you have residual DCIS.
