How you can support our work through social media fundraising

Fundraising through social media has made it easier than ever to support the causes you care about and share your fundraiser with family and friends.

You can fundraise through:

Facebook fundraising

  • Birthday fundraisers

Make your next birthday extra special! Inspire your friends with your passion for breast cancer research by sharing your special day with us.

Set up a Facebook fundraiser and tell your friends and family what matters to you on your special day. It doesn’t have to be instead of cake and presents – you can have those things too! Or if you want, you can ask your friends and family to donate to your fundraiser in lieu of gifts. It is completely in your hands.

  • Create a charity fundraiser

You don’t have to wait for your birthday to fundraise for us, you are able to set up a fundraiser on Facebook to support Breast Cancer Trials at any time. All you have to do is simply go to your Facebook page and locate the ‘FUNDRAISERS’ button in the menu on the left-hand side of your newsfeed (or if you’re on mobile, click ‘menu’ in the bottom right-hand corner).

  • Add a donate button to your Facebook post

Facebook also offers you the option of including a ‘Donation’ button on your posts. This is a quick and easy way to ask people to make a donation to Breast Cancer Trials without having to leave Facebook. Be sure to tag us so we can thank you!

Instagram fundraising

There are a number of ways you can set up and share your Instagram fundraiser. Once set up, your fundraiser will be visible in your bio for your supporters to access and support.

  • Instagram post

You can create an Instagram fundraiser from an Instagram post. Simply select “add a fundraiser” after you have selected the image you want to share and search for Breast Cancer Trials.

  • Instagram stories

Once you have selected the content for your Instagram story, tap stickers and select the “Donate” sticker. From here you can easily edit the amount and duration of your fundraiser. Be sure to tag us so we can thank you!

  • Instagram reels

Introduce your fundraiser to your followers through a fun video! To create or add a fundraiser to your reel, simply select ‘add fundraiser’ after writing your caption and select or add your fundraiser.

  • Through our profile

Visit our profile @breastcancertrials and select “Support” under our bio. From here, you can either donate directly to Breast Cancer Trials or select ‘Create a fundraiser’. This fundraiser will be added to your bio and shared to your followers in feed.

Payment and Receipts

Any donations made to Breast Cancer Trials using these tools will be received via the PayPal Giving Fund and sent to us within 90 days. Receipts will also be issued by PayPal Giving Fund as they collect and distribute these donations.

Because of this two-step process, we are not provided with your contact details. Please let us know if you are fundraising for us via messenger Facebook or Instagram or fundraising@bctrials.org.au so we can get in touch and say thank you.

Together with you (and the ease of social media), we can support all those affected by breast cancer.
