GIVE A LIFE-CHANGING GIFT THIS MOTHER’S DAY

This Mother’s Day, the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia is encouraging all Australian’s to give the gift of health by supporting breast cancer research.

A donation to breast cancer research in lieu of a Mother’s Day gift, could help researchers find the next breakthrough in breast cancer treatment and prevention – which would be the best gift for all women.

Especially for women like Laura, who was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer just before Mother’s Day last year, at just 31 years of age. When Laura received her diagnosis she felt numb.

“My mind was consumed with negative thoughts about my future, and that I wouldn’t see my babies grow up”, Laura said.

Fortunately, Laura has now finished her treatment and her surgeon and oncologist are confident she is cancer free. She is looking forward to spending a much happier Mother’s Day with her family this year.

“Continued research will see the end of this disease as we know it, and I can’t wait to be a witness to that momentous day.”

All profits raised from the appeal fund clinical trials research conducted by the Australia and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group (ANZBCTG) – Australia’s only independent, collaborative breast cancer clinical trials research group.

Clinical trials are the critical step that proves new treatments and prevention strategies are safe and effective before they are made widely available. Support for clinical trials research will help to get new and promising breast cancer treatments to those who need them.

Approximately 1 in 8 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer by the time they turn 85 and about 44 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia each day.
