2027 Clinical Fellowships (including Cancer Institute NSW Fellowships)
The Breast Cancer Trials (BCT) Clinical Fellowship is an opportunity for up to four Clinical Fellows to contribute to the scientific and clinical conduct of the BCT research program, as well as build capacity within BCT.
Breast Cancer Trials Fellowships
The BCT Fellowship will support up to two part-time Clinical Fellowships in a part-time capacity (1-2 days per week) for a one-year term, with a second-year extension possible upon successful re-application.
Cancer Institute NSW/BCT Fellowships
The Cancer Institute NSW and BCT are collaborating to enhance breast cancer clinical trial capacity and capability in NSW. Cancer Institute (CI) NSW and BCT will support up to two part-time NSW-based Clinical Fellowships. Fellowships are for 2 years at $80,000 per year.
Fellowships – General Information
The intent of the Fellowship program is to allow early career researchers to spend dedicated time on research projects relevant to existing or future BCT clinical trials that support aspects of the BCT strategic plan. This may relate to analysis and extension of existing trials, or background/pilot work relating to future trials.
These Fellowships are designed to support the professional development of outstanding individuals who have the potential and ambition to have breast cancer clinical research as a major part of their career.
Fellowships are available in the following disciplines:
- Medical oncology
- Pathology
- Psychology and other supportive care specialities
- Radiation oncology
- Radiology
- Surgery
Applications for Fellowships must be made by the Supervisor of the Fellowship, who must be a BCT member. The applicant must agree that the work funded by the BCT Fellowship is directly relevant to BCT work. Fellows are expected to attend the BCT Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), and registration for the ASM will be part of the award.
The application must include a description of the proposed project in sufficient details to allow the selection committee to assess its scientific merit, feasibility and relevance to BCT activities, as well as include extensive details around the applicant’s past record of breast cancer research and future ambitions to demonstrate their potential to contribute to the strategic aims of BCT.
The closing date for 2027 Fellowship applications is 21 August 2026.
BCT will announce successful Fellows in the week commencing 14 September 2026. Click the button below to complete your application.
